Innovation x Spaces
As I reflect on the last five years, I can’t help but think Africa has made significant progress within the innovation ecosystem. We see around us, the passion and drive of young people who are so keen to grow and fix the problems they see around them. I have seen startups pop up in different industries – healthcare, finance, education, real estate – and how these startups have redefined the status quo.
With all the growth and emergence of new startups and solutions, I believe the real question is, “Where are we at with democratisation?” I still have innovators reaching out to me asking about access to tools, funding and domain knowledge. Whiles the expansion of Africa’s ecosystem looks great, we risk losing it all if we cannot sustain this growth spurt. The way we sustain this is creating what I describe as “Spaces for Innovation”. Spaces for Innovation is my way of thinking about democratisation. We need to offer wider access to the key toolkits that innovators need to build essential solutions. Beyond the public sector, the private sector within the Africa context, must be intentional about providing this level of support and democratisation.
For almost a decade we have provided capacity for startups, entrepreneurs, innovators, businesses etc. We want to take this a step further and continue to power solutions that make real impact. We are introducing Abeyie Insights , a revolutionary platform that is taking access to tools and knowledge to a whole new level. Join the waitlist here: https://bit.ly/abeyieinsights
